Hugo is a long-haired, shaggy dog who works in Hollywood as a "Canine Action Specialist" (i.e., a stunt double). He was performed by Victor Yerrid. Ted Thomas interviews Hugo in episode 19 of From the Balcony about his work in the upcoming remake of The Shaggy Dog. Hugo eventually grows so annoyed by Thomas' questions that he attacks the interviewer.

The puppet uses the same design as the farmer's dog from The Tale of the Bunny Picnic.
