Trivia[]

  • Bill Thompson's performance as the Old-Timer is based on the character of the same name that he played on radio's Fibber McGee and Molly. He even says the character's catchphrase, "That ain't the way I hear'd it!"
  • In 1990, footage of this program was reused, with redubbed dialogue, for a special on The Disney Channel called Disney's Rootin' Tootin' Roundup.
  • Originally, this episode was going to contain an introduction by Walt Disney, much like previous Wonderful World of Color episodes before this one. However, the sequence was dropped (most likely due to Walt's death the previous year).
