Harman-Ising Productions, Ltd. was an animation studio run by Hugh Harman and Rudolf Ising.

History[]

The studio was formed after Winkler Pictures was removed from the production of Universal Pictures's Oswald the Lucky Rabbit cartoons.

Harman and Ising lent their former ink-and-painters to Walt Disney Productions while Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was behind schedule. In addition, Disney contracted out the production of three Silly Symphony shorts - "Merbabies", "Pipe Dreams", and "The Little Bantamweight" - to Harman-Ising Productions. Of the three, Disney only kept one ("Merbabies"). The other two were released by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer as part of their Happy Harmonies series.

The company went defunct when Harman and Ising started working at MGM's cartoon studio.
