Hannah Montana: The Movie is a Walt Disney Records soundtrack that was released on March 24, 2009, the same day since Hannah Montana debuted in 2006 as the third anniversary, with songs by Miley Cyrus, Hannah Montana, Billy Ray Cyrus, Rascal Flatts, Taylor Swift, and Steve Rushton. The score was originally to be written by Oscar-nominated composer Alan Silvestri, and he penned a new song "Butterfly Fly Away" with Glen Ballard, which was sung in the film. However, he dropped out due to scheduling conflicts with G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, which he was also signed to score. Then, another Oscar-nominated composer John Debney, who recorded his score with the Hollywood Studio Symphony at the Sony Scoring Stage. The album was debuted #2 on the Billboard 200 with 137,592 sold at the first week of release, and after four weeks, it claimed the #1 spot. A karaoke version was released on August 18, 2009.
