Glenda Veronica "Glenn" Close is an American actress, producer, and singer, who is well-known for her portrayal of Cruella De Vil (as well as for her signature "witch-like" laugh and scream as heard in her portrayal of Cruella De Vil) in the 1996 live-action adaptation of Disney's 101 Dalmatians and its 2000 sequel. She also played Vice President Katheryn Bennett in the 1997 political thriller film Air Force One, and provided both the speaking and singing voice of Kala in the 1999 Disney animated film Tarzan (in which she performed "You'll Be in My Heart", a duet with Phil Collins). She reprised her role as Kala in its 2005 midquel. Additionally, she portrayed Irani Rael in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy film, as well as served as the executive producer in Craig Gillespie's 2021 One Hundred and One Dalmatians live-action prequel/spin-off Cruella, alongside Emma Stone (with the latter playing the role of the younger Cruella De Vil).

Outside of Disney, Close is best known for voicing Mona Simpson in Fox's The Simpsons and Granny Puckett in the 2005 animated film Hoodwinked! and its 2011 sequel. She is also well-known for her live-action film roles in The World According to Garp (1982), The Big Chill (1983), The Natural (1984), Fatal Attraction (1987), Dangerous Liaisons (1988), Albert Nobbs (2011), The Wife (2017), and Hillbilly Elegy (2020), all of which earned her eight Academy Award nominations, holding the record for the most acting nominations without a win (tying the record with the late Peter O'Toole), while also making her one of the five most nominated actresses in the Academy history.
