Plot[]
In the activity room, Loretta finishes up downloading the blast bowling course. She then tells Miles and M.E.R.C. to head to the room for the sport, and Miles tells her that they will be there in a picosecond. As Loretta is preparing to roll the ball, Miles and M.E.R.C. arrive, knocking the ball, causing it to knock down all of the pins. Loretta says that she did not expect Miles to be the ball, and Miles says that he and M.E.R.C. were coming in fast. Loretta suggests that Miles re-reads cosmic explorer rule #63. Miles thinks it is to not turn the gravity off in a swimming pool, but Loretta says that that is rule #64, and that rule #63 is to look before you leap. This means to look where you are going before you get there, not after. Miles wonders what is fun about that when Stella informs everyone of an incoming call from a secret location. Miles wonders who is calling.
The call is coming from Admirals Watson and Crick, who assign the Callistos on a new mission: to rescue them. The Admirals are trapped inside a secret underground lab on Planet Alarbus, and Crick is hungry. The Admirals came to the lab to test out its security, but got themselves trapped because Crick spilled his Marsberry smoothie all over the control module, which Crick apologizes. There is an emergency shutoff switch, but it is located at the top of the room. The SpaceGuard tried to rescue the Admirals. They got through the front door, but then they could not get past the traps after that. The Admirals think the Callistos would do any better because they have been getting good at getting themselves out of tight spots. After the Callistos accept the mission, the Admirals send them a map of the lab so they will know where all of the traps are. Miles believes that this should be no problem.
Later, Leo realizes that it is a problem because the Admirals are located at the very bottom of the lab, and the Callistos need to go through three different traps to get to that point. The first trap has security orbs which look for intruders. If they catch one, they trap the person in a bubble. Once you are inside the bubble, you can not get out unless the security system is shut down. The second room is foggy, and you can not touch the floor because, according to Miles, you get bubbled. The third trap is the laser room. The lasers do not hurt you, but if you touch one of them, Miles and Loretta guess bubbles. To get through the lasers without touching them, Phoebe has a solution: the alien martial art of Naxos. Loretta realizes that that is the Ariadne routine, the hardest routine in Naxos. She can still do it. As for Miles, he did it once but half of it, and Miles tells Loretta that she and Phoebe may need to handle that part. Stella then informs the Callistos that they have arrived on Alarbus, and the Callistos use the Star Jetter the rest of the way.
Once the Callistos enter the lab, Leo suggests that they gear up a bit more, and they activate their Galactech spacesuits. Miles charges ahead, but is pushed back by something. Miles wonders what it is, and Leo says that that is a push beam, which he did not see on the map. Loretta thinks that this would not have happened if Miles remembered the cosmic explorer rule, but Miles says he knows and that he was so excited. The Callistos then step over the beam together. Loretta sees a lock for the hatch that goes to a lower level. It is locked, but she quickly unlocks it. The Callistos then use their Galactech wingsuits to get to the lower level.
Once there, they see the security orbs, and quickly activate their Chameleon mode so the orbs do not see them. Leo tells everyone else to follow him, but bumps into an orb, who traps him in a bubble. Miles, Loretta, Phoebe, and M.E.R.C. successfully make it through the room while not bumping into the orbs. They then make contact with Watson and Crick, informing them about the progress they are making. Crick is staring at Watson due to the fact that to Crick, Watson looks like a delicious green apple.
Miles, Loretta, Phoebe, and M.E.R.C. arrive at the fog room. Phoebe does not want M.E.R.C. flying where he can not see, as however they get across, it needs to be slowly. Miles decides to use his Lazerang's Galactech Mode, as it makes a hardlight bridge. After that, they make their way along the bridge. At the very end, however, Loretta trips off the platform and gets bubbled, but says that she will be fine.
Miles, Phoebe, and M.E.R.C. use their Galactech wingsuits to make it to the lowest level, and are surprised to see the lasers. On the opposite end is the door which leads to the room Watson and Crick are in. Phoebe does the Ariadne routine, but accidentally touches a laser, and gets bubbled as a result. M.E.R.C. tries to do the same, but is warned by Miles that he needs to look before he leaps just as M.E.R.C. touches a laser, getting bubbled as a result. Even though Miles is not sure he can do the Ariadne routine, he is told by Phoebe that in order to do so, he needs to look before he leaps. Miles keeps the tip in mind, and successfully makes it to the other side of the room with touching a single laser. Miles then breaks open the door with his Galactech super-punch and meets the Admirals. He gives Crick a sandwich which is a little smushed. Finally, Miles saves his family and turns off the lab's security system by using his Galactech bounce-legs to hit the emergency shutoff switch.
Outside the lab, the Admirals thank the Callistos for the rescue, with Crick enjoying his snack. Miles tells Loretta that he will never forget cosmic explorer rule #63, and looking before you leap is the best way to get ahead. Crick thinks it is two heads, and decides not to share the sandwich with Watson.
