Isadore "Friz" Freleng (August 21, 1906 - May 26, 1995) was an American animator, cartoonist, director and producer who was well known for creating memorable cartoon characters like Porky Pig, Sylvester the Cat, Yosemite Sam and the Pink Panther. In the beginning of his career when he moved to California, he was a cartoonist and employee to Walt Disney on the Laugh-O-Grams and Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. He left Disney to follow Hugh Harman and Rudolf Ising to Warner Bros. When Harman/Ising left WB in 1933 for MGM, Freleng stayed with Warner Bros., briefly moved to MGM from 1937-39, and then worked with Warner Bros. for the rest of his life in addition to his subcontracted company DePatie-Freleng Enterprises.
