I saw a production photo of Victoria Smurfit as Cruella De Vil for the television series Once Upon a Time and when I saw this certain photo of her, it inspired my artistic creativity to create a two dimensional drawing of her.
Drawing over a live-photograph is without a doubt more trickier than drawing over a two dimensional animated screenshot. The most challenging was the fur coat and her hair, in 2D picture you just have hair that is smooth with bold colors while in a 3D picture you have got a billion pieces of hair all over the head and so the trick for me was to get to look 2D. So what I did was go around certain areas and made these flicks of hair visible to make it look hairy and messy like real hair.
I tried to make this kind of attempt with drawing over 3D pictures before with Elsa the Snow Queen but the attempt was a dim failure and after a year I say this has been one of my most challenging drawings so far but I'm quite proud of it.
