David Alan Grier is an American actor, voice actor, and comedian. His Disney roles include Uncle Henry in The Muppets' Wizard of Oz, Fred Ostoff in In the Army Now, Dan Anderson in A Saintly Switch, and Bob Bugler in Angels in the Infield. He also voiced Tubunch in the Buzz Lightyear of Star Command episode "Stress Test", Rudd Rhymez in Randy Cunningham: 9th Grade Ninja, Memnon in the Hercules episode "Hercules and the Living Legend", and Reuben Parker in The Proud Family episode "Behind Family Lines".
Grier was born in Detroit, Michigan and graduated from Cass Technical High School, received a B.A. from the University of Michigan, and an M.F.A. from the Yale School of Drama, in 1981. Getting his start on stage, Grier appeared in shows like The First, A Soldier's Story, and Dreamgirls. He also voiced a character in a radio drama adaptation of Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back.
He entered mainstream media through the sketch comedy shoe In Living Color which also included Jim Carrey. He continued to make television appearances on shows like A Different World, ALF, Martin, Damon, DAG, Life with Bonnie, My Wife and Kids, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, The Carmichael Show, A Series of Unfortunate Events, and Queen Sugar. His film credits include Blankman, Tales from the Hood, Jumanji, McHale's Navy, Stuart Little, and Clifford the Big Red Dog.
