"Hmmm... Tastes Like" is the thirty-third episode of The Proud Family.
Synopsis[]
Oscar is determined to win the Professional Snack Maker’s Association Snack Off, so he uses his fellow monkeys as taste testers for his latest Proud Snax. However, they decide to bail out on him, so he uses Penny, Dijonay, LaCieniga and Zoey instead. Cut to Penny and her friends suffering from the toxic effects of the snacks and Dr. Payne giving Oscar a $500 bill for treatment. Luckily, Suga Mama comes to the rescue with her Get Up and Go Bars and cures the girls instantly. When Dr. Payne asks Suga Mama what’s in it, she humbly replies “Well, let’s just say I put my foot in it.” Penny suggests entering Suga Mama in the snack-off, but Oscar insists on using the bars for a church bake sale, insinuating that the snack-off is for professionals only.
Nevertheless, Suga Mama, after getting a PSA license, still enters the snack-off and wins after the judge, George Foreman falls unconscious from one of Oscar’s pork rinds. Suga Mama’s popularity skyrockets to the point where she gets dozens of presents from all the major snack companies and forms an alliance with Oscar to mass produce the Get Up and Go Bars. A montage set to the song “I’ll Always Love my Mama” by The Intruders ensues, showing Oscar and Suga Mama presenting the bars to elderly men, neighborhoods and grocery stores, all the while catching the attention of Wizard Kelly and Oscar seeing a money-spinner on the delectable treats.
Days later, Suga Mama is treated to a Get Up and Go Bar-styled cake and the announcement from Oscar that she is going to be on Oprah Winfrey’s show, which will most likely increase the family’s financial standing. Wizard Kelly shows up at the Proud’s front door offering to pay $2 million for Suga Mama’s recipe, since his crack team of scientists are unable to reverse-engineer or duplicate it. Suga Mama, not trusting the Wizard, initially refuses, but she and Oscar faint upon seeing the two million dollar offer. After recovering about an hour later, Penny and Trudy convince Oscar and Suga Mama to sell the recipe, but Suga Mama is still not willing to sell. When Wizard Kelly does return, she tears up the contract and sings “Believe” from the Broadway musical The Wiz to convince Oscar to believe in himself. Now fully coaxed, a tearful Oscar tells Wizard Kelly to “hit the road”.
In Chicago on Oprah’s show, the Prouds (plus Papi Boulevardez) watch Suga Mama revealing the ingredients for her Get Up and Go Bars. The known ingredients are flour, sugar and orange peels, but Oprah is interested in knowing what Suga Mama’s secret recipe is, despite her claims that it really isn’t a secret and she just “puts her foot in it” as previously stated. Even so, she goes on with the demonstration: she dusts her foot with flour and then puts her foot into the dough...literally. This causes the entire audience to spit. Oscar, thinking that the show is being taped, calls Wizard Kelly on Trudy’s cell phone to reaccept his two million dollar offer, but discovers from the Wizard that the episode is being seen live across the country (“Which means millions of people are throwing up as we speak!” adds the Wiz). To avoid getting sued, Oscar calls for an attorney.
In a pre-credits scene, Oscar, inspired by Suga Mama’s fiasco, tries to make his own snack, Feetos, which he demonstrates by diving his feet into two boiling pots of corn chips. Unfortunately, he ends up dancing the hot-foot.

- At the end of the episode, when Oscar puts his feet in the hot pots, he unintentionally does an imitation of James Brown, which Penny points out by saying, "Papa's got a brand new dance."
