King Louie Costumes Through the Years

This is how the King Louie costumes have changed over the years in the parks.

Picture	Year	As seen at	Notes
	1967-1978		The first King Louie costume (pictured with Baloo and Colonel Hathi), introduced in 1967, had wider eyebrows than later versions, a darker muzzle, and a skirt-like detail on his waist.
	1978-1993		The next King Louie costume had funny-kissing lips and his arms were attached to his head, seen from 1978 to 1992, but its use continued in Tokyo Disneyland and Disneyland Paris until 1993.
	1991-present		The current King Louie costume, first seen in 1991. He closer resembles his animated counterpart, but has a bald spot on his head like he does on TaleSpin. This costume debuted in The Disney Afternoon Live! at Disneyland, where he also sported his TaleSpin outfit (Hawaiian shirt, lei, straw hat).
			The articulated version of King Louie, seen in various live stage shows. He looks more like his animated counterpart.
