Mickey's Great Clubhouse Hunt is the first special and twenty-fourth episode of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. It first aired on March 20, 2007.

Synopsis[]

Pete is really upset that he is not invited to the Easter Egg Hunt, but when he says the wrong magic words, the Clubhouse's sections float away in different directions. It's up to Mickey to return them.

Plot[]

At Mickey's House[]

Before the film begins, Mickey Mouse explains that they must say the magic words right otherwise something funny will happen. The film starts with Mickey showing the viewers a picture of a decorated egg because it is Easter that day and he is throwing a party, along with an Easter Egg Hunt since everyone - including the viewers - is invited.

The Arrival Of Mickey's Friends And Pet[]

Daisy Duck, Goofy, Minnie Mouse, and Pluto arrive for the party and thank Mickey for the invitation by giving him their cards. While Goofy looks for his, he pulls out a rubber ducky and a set of pink bunny ears to be "Goofy Bunny" from his hat.

Donald's Arrival[]

Daisy tells Mickey that is when they decorate for the party, it is going to be so much fun since they have gotten streamers, balloons, banners and party hats, but Minnie finds out that Donald has not arrived yet and that he was supposed to bring all of the required items. As soon as Donald arrives, he bumps into the banner and drops everything that he has carried (which Minnie and Daisy catch) and yet again, he says "Aw, Phooey!". Pluto then untangles Donald from the banner.

The Best Easter Party[]

The Sensational Six (with the exception of Pluto since he only barks) sing while decorating the Clubhouse. Goofy decorates the Shoe Garage by putting up streamers since he is the tallest one, Daisy makes a big banner with glitter and glue by putting it up on the Clubhouse head and decorates eggs of yellow and blue, Donald makes the music up top of left side on the Clubhouse ears and finally, Mickey and Minnie are putting the decorations and food in a basket while doing the bunny hop. A fantasy scene then begins. The six of them are then singing in a yellow background with their heads shown in teal, magenta, yellow, red, blue, and green eggs respectively and then pop out of a decorated egg while dancing and singing, but concludes with them being split up into flower petals with Toodles in the middle. He shows Mickey and Minnie Mouse throwing a ball to each other in Summer, Goofy seeing the leaves fall and pumpkins grow in Autumn, Santa Claus popping down the chimney to put presents under the Clubhouse tree in Winter, and concluding with Minnie throwing flowers to the screen. Finally, The Sensational Six are split up into six in yet again teal, magenta, yellow, blue, red, and green rectangle screens inside Toodles, respectively. The fantasy scene then ends and we all see that the Clubhouse is all decorated for Easter as Pluto and Toodles dash out of the back gate.

Pete's Clubhouse[]

Sneaking towards the Clubhouse, an anthropomorphic, villainous cat named Pete notices that the Clubhouse is all decorated for Easter and he believes he was not invited to go to the party and he claims that this was not fair since he likes Easter candy and decides to have his own Clubhouse by inviting his own self to the party, as he can already envision it in his mind. When he sees Clarabelle bringing the party cake over, he gets the idea to trick Mickey into leaving and then take the cake to the Clubhouse so he can take over it. When Pete asks Clarabelle if he can "take the cake" to the Clubhouse for her, she agrees, but she also suspects that he might be up to something, to which Pete denies.

Phone Call[]

After Clarabelle leaves to prepare herself for the party, Pete dials the Clubhouse's phone and tells Mickey that he is Clarabelle Cow, but Mickey said that the voice sounds a lot like Pete. Mockingly, Pete (speaking in Clarabelle's voice), tells Mickey that he should go to the bakery to pick up his cake, in which he agrees to do so. Once the plan is in action, Pete says that he will take over the Clubhouse when Mickey and Pluto leave.

Mickey's Departure And His Return?[]

Despite having suspicions, Mickey and Pluto then proceed to go to the bakery by taking the Up-Slide while Pete (dressed up as Mickey Mouse) goes inside the Clubhouse with the cake and Minnie asks the viewers if Pete was Mickey and tells "Mickey" if he is REALLY him, then he would know anything the real Mickey knows by telling him to say the RIGHT magic words to open up the Clubhouse, but "Mickey Mouse" fails by saying the wrong magic words: Peeska, Pooska, Pick-a-Mouse (later corrected to Mickey Mouse), so Minnie asks the viewers if those are the right magic words, while "Mickey" tries to convince them to say yes, Minnie explains at last that the words he said were the wrong ones.

The Clubhouse flies away![]

Suddenly, the Clubhouse begins to shake violently, with the Mousekedoer, Silly Switch, Anywhere Area, and Up-Slide going crazy. Pete is then thrown out of the Clubhouse as it splits into five pieces and floats away in different directions, taking four of the Sensational Six along with it (Minnie is taken with the Clubhouse Pants, Donald with the Ears, Daisy with the Head, and Goofy with the Shoe Garage; the Glove Balloon flies off by itself). The giant Easter eggs and balloons outside of the Clubhouse disappear. "Mickey Mouse" tries many attempts to reverse the process, but gives up and runs away when the real Mickey Mouse arrives while humming the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Theme to Pluto.

The Real Mickey's Arrival[]

Mickey and Pluto are confused that Clarabelle wasn't at the bakery and discovers that the Clubhouse and his friends are gone. The viewers tell him that they floated away due to Pete saying the wrong magic words. He realizes that he must rescue his friends and retrieve all of the pieces of the Clubhouse, before Easter is ruined!

Finding The Pants And Minnie![]

After walking and sniffing for an hour straight, Mickey and Pluto notice Ludwig Von Drake on his backpack rocket arriving, who then greets the two. Mickey tells the Professor that he needs his help because the Clubhouse and four of the Sensational Six floated away, in which Ludwig reveals that he had nearly collided with the Clubhouse Pants, which have landed nearby. After rescuing Minnie, they notice Pete and he runs away because Pete thinks that Mickey is angry with him for making the Clubhouse float away, which he really isn't. On the other hand, they can now acquire Mouseketools.

To The Mouskedoer[]

When doing the original dance (a.k.a. The Mouskedoer Song), he activates the Mouskedoer and receives four Mouseketools: a pacifier, toolbox, handy crane, along with a Mystery Mouseketool.

In Search For Piece Number 2, The Shoe![]

Mickey, Minnie and Ludwig then send the Clubhouse Pants back where it belongs by touching it and saying the correct magic words. Now Mickey must find the remaining four pieces and his other friends and takes the Toon Plane to find Goofy and the Shoe Garage. Soon as he passes through a cloud, he receives cloudy bunny ears and tells the viewers to find the Shoe Garage. They spot it floating down a river with Goofy riding on top of it. Mickey Mouse then tells Goofy that he is heading for a waterfall, shocking him. Mickey quickly lands the Toon Plane near the river.

Mouseketool Moment Number 1[]

As soon as the Shoe Garage gets caught in the rocks above the waterfall, Mickey and Goofy both shout out Toodles for a Mouseketool. Mickey selects the handy crane and uses it to pull Goofy and the Shoe Garage up and out of the river before sending them back home.

Piece Number 3, The Clubhouse Head![]

Now Mickey must find the Clubhouse Head by taking the Toon Car, but when he notices a giant egg in the road, Mickey pushed a button to have two Handy Helpers lift the chassis of the Toon Car upward to avoid causing a crash. Mickey then screeches to a halt when he notices Daisy screaming in the Cup Car on the Clubhouse Head, which is floating up in the air. Daisy tells Mickey to get her down, as she is getting dizzy. Mickey asks the viewers what was keeping Clubhouse Head in the air, which is the water from a broken hydrant. Daisy then tells Mickey to turn the valve to shut the water off and after three attempts, Mickey is sent flying offscreen in pain. He notices Pete and asks if he could turn the water off, but he runs off again.

Mouseketool Moment Number 2![]

Mickey and Daisy call for Toodles and Mickey chooses his toolbox and among the wrenches, picks the flower wrench (which matches the value's shape) to turn the valve by turning it seven times. When the water turns off, Mickey and Daisy send the Clubhouse Head back home.

Outer Space From Here, Piece Number 4, The Clubhouse Ears![]

After retrieving the Clubhouse Head, Ludwig uses his giant telescope to see where the Clubhouse Ears are and after noticing Chip and Dale playing in space, he and Mickey spot the Clubhouse Ears, which are located on the planet Mars. To get there, Mickey and Minnie must use the Clubhouse Rocket and they take a star path (which forms a pattern) in order to get the Clubhouse Ears. As they land, Mickey goes after the Clubhouse Ears and leaves Minnie on her own to fly home. When Mickey gets on top of the Clubhouse Ears, he finds Donald with the fanfarea and sends him and the Clubhouse Ears back home, passing Chip and Dale in the process.

No Eggs, No Party...[]

With four pieces found and all of the Sensational Six back home safe and sound, they still need to find the Glove Balloon, but Goofy tells Mickey that they do not need it since he was ready for the party, only for Mickey to tell everyone that he put all the Easter eggs in the Glove Balloon, much to everyone's dismay. Mickey walks away very sad, prompting Pluto to join him and whimper at Mickey. Mickey laments to Pluto that the Clubhouse would never be the same without the Glove Balloon and he had ruined the party. Goofy wonders who saw the Glove Balloon fly away to and Minnie says that it was Pete because he saw all the pieces float away.

Call For Pete![]

Ludwig asks the viewers if they had seen Pete, who then spot him nearby while he desperately tries to get the viewers to be quiet. He runs away for the third time. After shouting three times, Pete had received the attention and decides to make amends by telling everyone that the Glove Balloon floated away into the clouds, where Willie the Giant lives and Ludwig warns Mickey that he does not want to disturb him, but they still need to retrieve the Glove Balloon since it is the last piece of the Clubhouse.

Mystery Mouseketool Moment![]

In order to get up to the clouds, they need a Mouseketool, thus having the Sensational Six, Ludwig, and Pete shout for Toodles. Mickey wonders if he could use a pacifier to fly, but since that would not work, they went for the Mystery Mouseketool instead, which is a bunch of balloons.

We Need Piece Number 5, The Glove Balloon, And The Final Mouseketool Moment![]

Pete and Mickey fly up into the clouds with the balloons and land on Willie's farm with Pete being scared of Willie. They see the Glove Balloon inside the barn. When they go inside, they are unable to get the balloon due to Willie's snoring, so they whisper for Toodles. They select the pacifier, which stops Willie from snoring. Pete and Mickey then try to go inside the Glove Balloon, but end up making a noise. Willie wakes up and and spits the pacifier out of his mouth.

Mean Pete & Nice Pete[]

Before the escape, while Pete hides, Willie sees Mickey and, mistaking him for a baby bird, decides to keep him as a pet and puts him inside a bird cage. When Willie is off to get some bird food, Pete gets into a conversation with his two subconscious counterparts: Mean Pete and Nice Pete. Mean Pete tells Pete to get the Glove Balloon so he can own the Clubhouse, while Nice Pete tells him that Mickey is his friend and that he should not abandon him, with Mean Pete disagreeing since Mickey forgot to invite him. Nice Pete proves this wrong by revealing that Mickey actually did invite him and that his invitation is inside his back pocket the whole time. With help from the viewers, Pete notices the invitation really is in his back pocket, making him regret his sneakiness. The subconscious Petes then vanish.

Escaping Time![]

With help from the viewers, Pete flies the Glove Balloon up to the birdcage and helps Mickey lift the latch, just as Willie returns. After freeing Mickey, he and Pete escape the barn. Willie sees them and, thinking that his new "pet" is escaping, chases after them. By saying the right magic words super fast, they manage to escape from Willie (who believes that he taught the "baby bird" how to fly). As Mickey and Pete are on their way home, Pete notices a basket of Easter Eggs and jelly beans for the Easter Party. He then holds his invitation in front of Mickey. He tells Mickey that he thought he forgot about him but he didn't and that he's glad Mickey's the leader of the Clubhouse. Shortly after that, the duo and the Glove Balloon return home.

It's time for the Easter Party![]

The film ends with all five pieces of the Clubhouse back where they belong (making all the giant Easter eggs and balloons reappear) just in time for the Easter party. Clarabelle thanks Pete for delivering the cake as the gang participate in an Easter egg hunt. The Best Easter Party song is reprised with the same events and fantasy scene, with Pete, Clarabelle, and Ludwig taking part in the song (although they do not appear in the fantasy scene). The film ends with everyone doing the Hot Dog Dance joined by Pete, Clarabelle, and Ludwig. After the Clubhouse disappears, Mickey signs off before the end credits roll.

  • A toolbox (to get Daisy on the clubhouse head down from the fire hydrant)

Trivia[]

  • This is the first Mickey Mouse Clubhouse special.
  • The episode was released on DVD the exact same day this episode aired.
  • This is the first episode to be produced in widescreen, however when the episode aired during 2007 it was in 4:3 format.
  • The opening sequence is slightly altered because Mickey says that the magic words to make the Clubhouse appear has to be "exactly right", or else "something funny might happen", foreshadowing the events that unfold in the episode. He also adds that he "forgets to mention the magic words every time". Coincidentally, this is the only episode in the entire series to do so. His animation is also similar to that of the opening sequence used from Season 2 onwards.
  • During the song "The Best Easter Party Ever", Mickey, Donald and Pluto were doing the dances from the Hot Dog Dance.
  • The credits are long in this episode and the characters do a pose at the end of the Hot Dog Dance, and there are no Walt Disney or Playhouse Disney logo at the end of this special.
  • This is the first time the guests learn how to do the Hot Dog Dance in this special.
  • This is the first time when Mickey says the official name for the Hot Dog Dance in this special.
  • This episode is missing from the series' Disney+ page likely due to the animators' strike or budgets. This is also the only Mickey Mouse Clubhouse episode not to be on Disney+ at all as of 2024 (since Mickey's Adventures in Wonderland got added to the service on Christmas Day 2022).
  • This is the fourth time Mickey had to be quiet when selecting a Mousketool following "Mickey Goes Fishing", "Donald and the Beanstalk" and "Mickey's Treat".
  • This was the first time Mickey Mouse calls for Toodles with a bullhorn.
  • It's revealed Pete can imitate Mickey's voice perfectly.
  • Despite Toodles not having a face in this episode, He acts more as a good friend to Mickey's Friends, as he appears a lot more then just being called for Mouseketools, as he even appears in the Easter Party Song at the end of the episode.
  • The phrase "And the mystery mouseketool" from this episode was recycled throughout some episodes of Seasons 2 and 3. However, the part "ooh" was not reused.
  • In January 2024, the scene featuring Pete dreaming about the clubhouse becoming his own became an internet meme, appropriately titled "Pete's Clubhouse".
    • In addition, August 2023 saw the scene of Mickey lamenting over the loss of the Glove Balloon also becoming an internet meme. This meme famously started an online joke, in which Mickey Mouse Clubhouse was jokingly being compared to the Netflix series Sonic Prime.

Goofs/Errors[]

  • If you pay attention to the beginning of the Theme Song, Mickey's head moves left and right when saying "Say, you wanna come inside my Clubhouse?".
  • When Goofy says "They don't call me Goofy bunny for nothin'", Donald can be seen frozen on the left side of the screen.
  • When the Clubhouse Head reattaches itself, the Glove Balloon is visible in its place before it was found.
  • When Mickey locates Donald, he somehow has a spacesuit of his own.
  • When the Clubhouse floats away, the Up-Slide is missing. It reappears when the Clubhouse head reattaches itself, but briefly disappears again after the Clubhouse is fully reassembled.
  • The Cup Car is shown when Mickey finds Donald in outer space, even though it was shown intact with the Clubhouse Head in an earlier scene.
  • When the Mousekedoer goes crazy, its ears are shown retracting in front of its gears.
  • Willie did not recognize Mickey despite having met him in "Donald and the Beanstalk".
  • After Professor Von Drake asks the viewers where Pete is, Mickey is seen already standing. But when it cuts to a close up shot of Mickey, he starts to stand up.
  • When Pete starts to float away on the balloons, Mickey grabs onto his left foot. But as they float up into the clouds, Mickey is holding onto Pete's right foot.
    • This happens again when Pete grabs onto the rope on the Glove Balloon.
