"The Secret of Lost Valley" is a 1980 telefilm produced by Walt Disney Productions. It was originally broadcast on NBC as a two-part episode on Disney's Wonderful World on April 27, and May 4, 1980. The telefilm was directed by Vic Morrow.

Plot[]

A boy named Adam Harkness (Brad Savage) wanders away from his parents (Gary Collins, Mary Ann Mobley) during a camping trip in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Becoming lost in the wilderness, he is saved by a mysterious Native American boy his own age (Eddie Marquez), whom he nicknames Zane. Zane, who is dressed strangely and does not speak English, as it turns out, is a member of an ancient, uncontacted prehistoric tribe, who have lived undisturbed in a nearby remote valley for thousands of years. Zane takes him to his village, but the other members of the tribe, not keen to be discovered by outsiders, are understandably less than pleased with Adam's presence. Nevertheless, after some arguing, they allow Zane to help him return to civilization, which results in Zane being captured and basically treated like a lab experiment. Overcome with guilt, Adam must now help his new friend return home and somehow protect the ancient tribe and the secret of their lost valley from meddling scientists who wish to capture the rest of them for study.
