Trivia[]

  • When the program reaired in 1979, the introductory footage with Walt Disney was replaced by an alternate narration (by Gary Owens) to explain Donald's quitting and subsequent return to the studio, set to footage of his cartoons. As such, Donald's phone conversation with Walt is replaced by Donald having a phone conversation with Mickey Mouse instead (using footage from Mickey's Delayed Date for the latter; Mickey is completely mute in the sequence). This version also used footage from Lucky Number in the opening title. This alternate opening was also used when the program was shown in syndication on the Wonderful World of Disney series of the late 1980s.
  • In syndication, the title used from the 1979 reairing had been replaced with generic titles and new preview of the episode.
  • Also in syndication, the footage of Donald back at the agency after quitting his service station job and then being sent to the carnival was cut. Instead, after Lucky Number, it simply cut directly to Donald and the nephews at the carnival. Also cut was Donald taking a boat out to the lighthouse for his lighthouse keeping job.
  • The 30-minute version of the show does not feature Lucky Number, Lighthouse Keeping or Bellboy Donald.
  • The footage of Donald at the Ajax Employment Agency was later reused in Down and Out with Donald Duck.
