Part 4 of the grand opening of Disneyland continues with the opening of Fantasyland. First, Walt Disney reads the dedication and then the fun begins where they opened the Sleeping Beauty castle drawbridge to enter Fantasyland to all the children of the world. It features a medley of Disney songs while people and guests are going to take a ride of attractions including a carousel, and ride on a Mad Hatter's Tea Party, and ride on a Peter Pan Flight, ride on a Snow White ride with the kids, ride with the Casey Jr. train, ride on a pirate's ship and finally go on "Mr. Toad's Wild Ride". And then, this ends with a perfomance by the Mousketeers where they sang "Talent Round-Up" and introduce roll calls to each Mouseketeer. This was also a preview of the original "Mickey Mouse Club" TV show before the show aired about 3 months later. This ends Fantasyland.
There was also one interesting blooper in that special where Art Linkletter had some trouble finding his microphone outside of "Mr. Toad's Wild Ride", but he can't find it, but it was hidden somewhere inside of the attraction and someone had found it, but he would never losing it again.
This special was aired on ABC 56 years ago today back in 1955 when Disneyland opened its gates. This was taped off of Disney Channel back in the late 90's as part of "Vault Disney" and it was included as part of the "Walt Disney Treasures" series of DVD's entitled "Disneyland USA".
Part 5 will wrap it up with a little bit of Adventureland.
