TaleSpin: Drumming Up Business is a TaleSpin storybook-and-tape combo, released as part of the Disney Read-Along series.
Synopsis[]
Shere Khan is in his office talking about this year's Air Hunt, as he tells his assistant to raise the prize money to $10,000. McWhitley, Khan's assistant, worries since it was double from last year. Khan reassures him while choking him, saying that everything will be all right.
Meanwhile, at Higher for Hire, Rebecca suggests that Baloo enters Shere Khan's Air Hunt contest, but Baloo objects. Baloo doesn't want to enter the contest because he knows it's rigged, since Khan's pilots always win, in addition to saying that there's nothing to change his mind about his decision. Rebecca then tries to convince Baloo by saying how him entering the contest will increase customers and saying that the contest is worldwide this year. Baloo then looks for his camera and tells Rebecca he's looking for it so he can take pictures of various things around the world. From there, Rebecca is convinced that Baloo wants to participate in the contest.
The day of the contest comes, in which Khan's best pilots would be participating. A couple of Khan's pilots say to Baloo to give up already since he doesn't stand the chance. Baloo responds by saying he'll win it, as well as generating business for Rebecca in the process. Shere Khan then begins to speak, and talks about how the Air Hunt tests various skills of a pilot, and makes the announcement of the $10,000 prize money. Khan then tells his assistant that his pilots always cheat and win, explaining how he always gets back his money and gets free publicity in the process.
Then, a pilot named Nancy tells Shere Khan that she's new at being a pilot and how she's going to win the prize. Khan responds sarcastically that she'll win as the other pilots laugh at what Nancy said. Khan then waves a green flag, signaling the pilots to get to their planes.
Khan's pilots leave first as there is a lot of wind in the skies. The pilots need to slow down in order to avoid crashing, as Baloo is complaining that a normal pilot wouldn't do anything rotten, and noticing that Khan's pilots are willing to do anything to win...
