Dominick "Dom" DeLuise was an American actor, voice actor, comedian, director, producer, author, and chef, known for his distinctive gruff, albeit very timid and wheezing voice. He was best known for voicing various animated characters in Don Bluth's films, such as Jeremy in The Secret of NIMH and its 1998 sequel, Tiger in An American Tail, and was the only voice actor to reprise his role throughout the franchise, Stanley in A Troll in Central Park, and Itchy Itchiford in All Dogs Go to Heaven, and was one of two voice actors who made it through the whole franchise (the other being Charles Nelson Reilly as Killer). He was also well-known for voicing Christopher Columbus in The Magic Voyage, as well as Pizza the Hutt (a parody of Jabba the Hutt) in Mel Brooks' Spaceballs (a parody of Star Wars).

For Disney, he voiced Fagin in the 1988 Disney animated feature film Oliver & Company and Dionysus in the Hercules TV series. He also hosted The Mouse Factory episode "The Great Outdoors", narrated the read-along of Monsters, Inc., and guest-starred on The Muppet Show.

On May 4, 2009 at age 75, DeLuise died from kidney failure, cancer, and respiratory problems, due to complications of diabetes.
