Synopsis[]

The Goofies of Polytechnic University take on the Goofies of University U. in a full court basketball frenzy.

Voices[]

Trivia[]

  • A scene where the referee shoots holes in the floor to keep the players behind the foul line was cut out whenever this short aired on The Ink and Paint Club. Also cut were scenes showing the coach smoking his cigars.
  • As with the other Goofy team sport shorts, the players have names of Disney people. In this short, they include (Bill) Berg, (Jack) Hannah, (Yale) Gracey, (John) Sibley, (Milt) Banta, (Hugh) Fraser, (Ralph) Wright and (Jack) Kinney.
  • Much of the animation of the nervous coach and some of the music is reused from How to Play Football.

Errors[]

  • The coach smokes a bunch of cigars at the same time. While doing that, he puts his head back in his own self. Once he puts his head up again, there is only one cigar.

Have a Laugh! changes[]

The following scenes were deleted from the short release due to time constraints:

  • The two teams coming out on the court.
  • The entire scene of the P.U. team getting warmed up, their coach giving last-minute instructions, and the referee picking up the ball.
  • The scene between the initial jump and Reeves dribbling the ball for a first score for U.U.
  • All scenes between one U.U. player's foot getting stepped on and, into the second half, Brightman of P.U. running into two U.U. members and getting called out on foul.
  • The P.U. coach's cigar is digitally removed as he tears up his contract, with the scenes of him swallowing his cigar and later smoking several at once both cut entirely.
  • The P.U. players getting sent in, one by one, until Merithew, the tiny Goofy player, remains.
  • Merithew getting his foot caught in a bucket of water and tripping in it as he meets the referee.
  • Merithew trying to keep up with the other players.
  • Merithew gaining possession of the ball, but it gets pulled away by a U.U. player.
  • Merithew's fellow P.U. teammates all kissing him as gratitude for scoring the winning basket.
