The 6abc Thanksgiving Day Parade is an annual parade held every Thanksgiving Day in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania since 1920. It is currently sponsored by and aired on ABC's affiliated Pennsylvanian television station, WPVI-TV. Since the parade airs on television through an ABC affiliate, the parade has often been sponsored by Walt Disney World Resort. Because of this, multiple Disney characters appear each year. Disney On Ice productions also get promoted each year by featuring characters from whichever show will be in the Philadelphia area that holiday season.
