Pepe the Bull was an animated television series pitched to Disney Television Animation by Jorge R. Gutierrez and Sandra Equiha, creators of El Tigre: the Adventures of Manny Rivera on Nickelodeon, in 2002 that was rejected and only remained as a pilot episode. It could have been Disney's first ever Flash-animated series, but this ended up being The Buzz on Maggie, which Gutierrez provided character designs for.

Gutierrez revealed that the show was not picked up because the producers wanted the series to be about Pepe's sister. They were willing to greenlight the project, but he turned them down.[1]

Trivia[]

  • The baby mouse, who is actually a boy, was designed after Disney's mascot Mickey Mouse.
    • He could be the son of Mickey Mouse
  • The short only contained 4 voice actors, such as Carlos Alazraqui, Candi Milo, Eric Bauza and Jorge R. Gutierrez.
    • Carlos Alazraqui voices all the male characters, excluding Grandpapito, pig, and Bearded Barabara announcer, while Candi Milo voices all the female characters.
      • Alazraqui's performance of Pepe is very similar to Rikochet from ¡Mucha Lucha!, which also came out in 2002. In addition, Alazraqui also voiced Tito the Skunk, who sounds an awful lot like Señor Midcarda, also from ¡Mucha Lucha!, with a dash of Juandissimo Magnifico from The Fairly OddParents.
