Farley acts like a typical seagull in that he is usually looking for a snack, a trait he shares with Clover (who is initially his rival, but the two quickly team up). He proves himself quite helpful by providing an eye in the sky when searching for the sea monster that kidnapped Oona. He is to Oona what Mia and Robin are to Sofia-her bird friend.
He speaks with an Australian accent.
Farley has primarily white plumage, like most seagulls. His wings and tail are tipped with black, and he has a thick orange beak and webbed feet. He has green eyes and a topknot on his head.
Role in the Series
Farley first appears after Sofia takes off with Oona when Clover finds him making off with his bag of blueberries. This starts a battle between the two that spills the blueberries overboard and gets them stuck in a life-saver in an "awkward" way.
Sofia shows up and Farley is shocked that she can talk to him. She tells the pair that her mermaid friend Oona was abducted by a Sea Monster. After freeing the pair from the life saver, Sofia instructs Farley to take to the sky and look for Oona. In the sky, Farley sees a light coming from a cave. Upon investigating the source, Farley finds Oona locked in a cage on a boat and flies back to tell Sofia. He gets back in time to rescue Clover from Admiral Hornpipe who has mistaken him for a rat. He then flies down to tell Sofia his findings and leads her to Oona. Upon arriving, they discover that the monster knows magic and the reason he took Oona is because he wants Oona's comb. Sofia tries to save Oona but is no match for the monster and she fails.
Farley goes back and gets Clover while Sofia goes back and gets Oona's big sister Cora and together they finally save Oona with the power of the Mermaid Comb. They then head back to the ship.
