"Eye to Eye" is the second segment of the fourteenth episode of Miles from Tomorrowland. It premiered on May 15, 2015 alongside "The Neptune Adventure".

Plot[]

Leo and Phoebe bring a Tomorrowland research satellite back to the Star Jetter, and Miles informs Loretta of such. Leo knows why the satellite stopped working, and once he and Phoebe got a closer look, it was pretty obvious: an asteroid damaged it. The good news: the Callistos have a replacement part back in the Stellosphere. As Leo heads to his seat, he trips on some Booster Bites, which he guesses is Miles'. M.E.R.C. eats them up, burps, and squawks, "excuse me". The Star Jetter then sets course for the Stellosphere.

Miles reveals that the Booster Bites ended up on the floor because he and M.E.R.C. were pretending to be ground-crawling space slugs. Just then, the Star Jetter hits something that Leo does not see. The ship spirals out of control, and M.E.R.C. buckles his own seat belt. Leo finds out that the ship's gyro-stabilizers are not responding, and the ship crash lands on a planet, causing it to be severely damaged. The Callistos are all right, but see the damage.

Leo believes that from the amount of structural damage, the Star Jetter took a direct hit. No matter what it was, Phoebe assumes that it came from out of nowhere, and did not see a thing. Leo says that the only thing that matters is getting the ship up and running again. M.E.R.C. sees an ailen in the distance, and Miles calls him out, telling him if he can fix the Star Jetter. The alien has heard everything. The Callistos introduce themselves to him, and Leo says that their ship is damaged with the Callistos stranded a long way from home. However, the alien blames the Callistos for not seeing his ship which caused the crash. Phoebe promises him that they did not see the ship, and the alien introduces himself as Spectryx from the planet Parallax. He says that he would be heading home now if it were not for the Callistos. Leo offers him to help each other out to speed up the repairs, but Spectryx declines. Miles assumes that he was upset about his ship getting wrecked. Phoebe realizes that the Star Jetter is missing some parts, which broken off and scattered when it crashed. Loretta checks if the planet has any epoxyium plants, which it does. The plants' sap is like glue, sticky enough to put the Star Jetter back together.

Miles and M.E.R.C. find one missing piece, and Miles brings it down off a tree with his Lazerang. Miles and M.E.R.C. tow it while it is being carried on Miles' Blastboard when Spectryx appears, telling Miles what he has done with it. By that, Spectryx saw his starboard thruster up ahead, and it suddenly disappeared. As Miles and M.E.R.C. move the glass, the thruster re-appears to Spectryx, and he pulls it towards his ship, confusing Miles.

Back at the Star Jetter, Miles assumes that he and Spectryx were not seeing the same things. As M.E.R.C. takes over, Loretta realizes that Miles is right. According to her Bracelex, Parallaxians like Spectryx only see heat, but humans only see light. This is because Spectryx has different eyes than humans, and sees things in infrared vision. Loretta then activates Miles' infrared vision, and states that if something is hot, Spectryx can see it, but when she covers her face with the glass, Miles can not see it. This is because heat does not go through glass. Spectryx can not see anything that is cold, as well. Also, humans can not see anything that is in the dark, but Spectryx can. This is the reason why the Callistos crashed into Spectryx's ship, as it was made out of something they could not see. While the rest of the Callistos fix the Stellosphere, Miles and M.E.R.C. decide to find Spectryx after M.E.R.C. gets unsticked.

Spectryx just finds another piece for his starship when he notices wind. Miles and M.E.R.C. call for him, and they activate their infrared vision, seeing his starship. When they get there, they notice that he is gone. M.E.R.C. sees footprints, and he and Miles follow them until they stop. In the distance, Spectryx is calling for anyone to help him, and Miles and M.E.R.C. come to him, and see him stuck in a dust devil. Since it is too dangerous for someone to go in it, Miles decides to use his Blastbuckle tether to rescue Spectryx. When it does not work, Miles wraps the tether around his Lazerang, and Spectryx catches it. However, Miles falls off M.E.R.C., who rescues Miles and Spectryx. Spectryx reveals that he got stuck in the dust devil when he was trying to reach some parts of his ship, and he does not know how he could have missed it. Miles knows, stating that the devil does not give off any heat, and it is invisible in infrared vision. Miles tells Spectryx that he can see some things that humans can not, but humans can see things that are invisible to Parallaxians, like the dust devil. Miles and M.E.R.C. agree that Spectryx is not the only one who miss what is right in front of them.

Spectryx then helps the Callistos finish repairing the Star Jetter. After being thanked by Phoebe, Spectryx states that that was the least he could do after Miles saved him. Miles gives Spectryx the vertical stabilizer Spectryx has been looking everywhere for. Miles then tells the Callistos to turn on their infrared, which they do. Spectryx wishes the Callistos a safe journey home, and hopes that he could see them once again. Phoebe tells Miles that Spectryx is friendly once Miles got to know him, and sometimes it is all in the way you look at things. After Spectryx's ship leaves, M.E.R.C. gets stuck in the Star Jetter by the sap used to put the ship together.
