"Doug's Secret of Success" is the twenty-seventh episode of Doug.
Synopsis[]
The lives of Doug and all the other students at Beebe Bluff Middle School become a frenzy when Lamar Bone returns and becomes the middle school's new vice principal. He soon starts throwing Roger into detention and making new school rules. Also, eighth graders invite Doug to join a secret club of the future powerful men of the universe. But in order to be worthy to join, Doug must prove he can be a successful person and it's cutting himself out of monster hunting with Skeeter and he realizes that the club isn't as great or as honest as he thought it was.
Trivia[]
- Mr. Bone returns to the show after being mostly absent from the previous season (not counting his imaginary cameo in "Doug's Last Birthday").
- Mr. Bone's profile on Vice Principal Search-Net says he was "Vice principal [of] Bluffington Elementary School for four seasons," in reference to how long the original Doug series ran.
- As indicated in the summary, this is the first episode to include the ongoing story arc of Skeeter attempting to prove the existence of the monster that lives in Lucky Duck Lake, which would be concluded in Doug's 1st Movie.
- Doug mentions the events of "A Limited Corporation".
- When the club ask Doug if he won any achievements, he is asked if he won an Emmy. Upon hearing this, Doug looks annoyed and puts his hands on his hips. This is most likely an in joke at the fact that by the time the episode aired, Doug had been nominated for two Emmys, but did not win either of them. The show would be nominated for two more, but would also not win them.
