Disney Special Editions

Disney Special Editions is a line of DVD and Blu-ray Disc releases, which are the United Kingdom equivalents to the Platinum and Diamond Editions released in the United States. The UK Special Editions line also includes Disney films not issued as Platinum and Diamond Editions, but still released in the US in named "special edition" packages (e.g. Robin Hood: Most Wanted Edition and Dumbo: Big Top Edition). However, the catalogue of UK Special Editions contains many more titles than the American Platinum Edition line, and does not have a determined annual release schedule.

All of the DVDs prior to Beauty and the Beast have had no slipcovers; most following films, however, do.

Disney have selected 13 movies for a place in their vault.[1] DVD releases of these as special editions are as follows. In 2007, these were renamed Platinum editions, and in 2008 the company also started releasing the Platinum range on Blu-Ray.
