For years the area where Disney California Adventure Park was parking. When the park opened, parking had to move. Also, a hotel was built next to the park.
[edit] Rides and Lands
The Park in separated in to seven different lands.
[edit] Sunshine Plaza
This is the land that you first enter after you check in. There are no rides in Sunshine Plaza.
[edit] Hollywood Pictures Backlot
To the left of Sunshine Plaza is Hollywood Pictures Backlot. It is a modeled after a Hollywood movie set. Rides:
Muppet Vision 3D: A indoor 3D movie featuring the Muppets.
Monsters Inc. "Mike and Sully to the Rescue!": This ride is based on the 2003 Disney/Pixar movie "Monsters Inc".
Playhouse Disney Live!: A live play featuring the stars of the Playhouse Disney shows.
Hollywood Tower of Terror: This ride is bases of an episode from the CBS show "The Twilight Zone". When you enter, you go into a small library. A TV set turns on and you find out that one night in 1939 and the famous Hollywood tower Hotel, 6 people(including the elevator operator) enter the elevator on the way to the 13th floor. On the way up, the hotel is struck by lighting, causing the elevator to malfunction. The elevator crashes back to the ground floor and the occupants are sent to the Twilight Zone. Then the host on TV(who is the late Rod Serling, the creator of The Twilight Zone. Disney uses old TV footage of him from the original show) invites you to ride again. Due to the fact that the main elevator is "out of order" because of the crash, you will ride in an operating service elevator. You then exit the library and in the back room of the hotel. You follow the line until you get to one of the elevators(the doors are made to look like authentic 1930s elevator doors) and board. You sit down in the elevator, a employee makes sure you have your seat belt on and tells you the rules, then you off. You move back then climb. First stop is to show yo9u the original victims enticing you to join them. You then go higher and when the door opens again, you find you self in front of a mirror. You see your self enter the Twilight Zone. The elevator then shoots to the top, where the doors open and you see out side, plus get you picture taken. Suddenly, the elevator drops, then goes back up again. This happen a few times. You then go back to the ground level and exit.
Disney Animation: This is a walk through attraction that has many options to chose from. You can go to Animation Academy, where you learn how to draw Disney Characters. Turtle talk with Crush, in which the audience gets to chat with Crush from the movie Finding Nemo. And Sorcerers Work shop, where you see early ways of animation, find out what Disney Character your most like, and put your on voice in to a Disney movie clip.
[edit] Golden State

[edit] The Complete California Adventure
If want to use an informal approach, it may take you a day and a half to enjoy everything at California Adventure. Give just one day, if it's a busy one, you may miss out on some of the most popular rides. On the other hand, you can have more fun in less time if you use Ridemax to minimize waiting and experience everything California Adventure has to offer in a little less than a day. With a hopper pass that lets you enter both parks in the same day, you can then spend the rest of that day at Disneyland.
