David Wayne Spade is an American actor, stand-up comedian, writer, and television personality who was best known for being a cast member on the NBC late-night sketch comedy and variety show Saturday Night Live from 1990 to 1996, and for his roles as Dennis Finch on the NBC sitcom Just Shoot Me! from 1997 to 2003, and Russell Dunbar on the CBS sitcom Rules of Engagement from 2007 to 2013. He is also well-known for portraying the titular character in the 2001 comedy film Joe Dirt, as well as voicing Griffin the Invisible Man in the Hotel Transylvania film series.

For Disney, he voiced Kuzco in the 2000 animated feature film, The Emperor's New Groove and its direct-to-video sequel Kronk's New Groove, and played as C.J. Barnes on the ABC sitcom 8 Simple Rules from 2004 to 2005. He also played Ed Gunt in the ABC TV show The Mayor.
