Dan Scanlon (born June 21, 1976) is an American screenwriter, director, artist, voice-actor, producer and a member of the senior creative team on Pixar films.

Early life

Dan was born on June 21, 1976 in Michigan. He graduated with a BFA from the Columbus College of Art and Design in 1998. He joined Pixar in 2001, where he first worked as a story artist. He also illustrated part one of the "Unmentionalables" (a comic book that was written by his wife). He was an animator on two non Disney/Pixar films- Joseph: King of Dreams and The Indescribable Nth which were both released in 2000. Scanlon wrote, directed, acted in, produced and was a cinematographer as well as editor on the 2009 mockumentary "Tracy" which was his first feature film as a writer and director.

Personal life

Dan lives with his wife Michele Scanlon in San Francisco, where they work together on projects under the production company "Caveat Productions", which they founded.
