Christoph Waltz (born October 4, 1956) is an Austrian-German actor who internationally known for his works with American filmmaker Quentin Tarantino, including his roles as Colonel Hans Landa in Inglourious Basterds, Ernst Stavro Blofeld in Spectre, and as Dr. King Schultz in Django Unchained, for which he won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for both roles.

Waltz was in negotiations to star as Jean Pierre Napoleon in Muppets Most Wanted, but turned down the role due to scheduling conflicts. Instead, he made a cameo appearance dancing with Sweetums.



  • Waltz was originally considered for the role of Ego in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, but at the end, Kurt Russell was cast instead.
