Christopher Michael "Chris" Pratt is an American actor, who is best known for his roles as Scott Hatteburg in the 2011 biographical sports drama film Moneyball, Andrew "Andy" Dwyer in the NBC mockumentary sitcom Parks and Recreation, and Owen Grady in the Jurassic World film trilogy. He also voiced Emmet Brickowski in The LEGO Movie franchise, the titular character of The Super Mario Bros. Movie, and will provide the voice of the titular character of the 2024 computer-animated film The Garfield Movie.

For Disney, he portrayed Peter Quill/Star-Lord in the 2014 Marvel sci-fi action film Guardians of the Galaxy, and reprised this role in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, Thor: Love and Thunder, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, as well as in the park rides Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: BREAKOUT! at Disney California Adventure and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at Epcot. He also played Brett in the 2013 Touchstone Pictures film Delivery Man, as well as voiced Barley Lightfoot in the 2020 Disney/Pixar film Onward (alongside his Marvel co-star Tom Holland). He was also mentioned in the Bizaardvark episode "Holiday Video Sketchtacular".

Pratt was born in Virginia, Minnesota. His mother worked at a Safeway supermarket, and his father worked in mining and later remodeling houses. Pratt's father died in 2014 from multiple sclerosis. His mother is of Norwegian descent. When Pratt was seven years old, the family moved to Lake Stevens, Washington. Pratt placed fifth in a high school state wrestling tournament. He also was a shot putter for his high school's track team. He later recalled that when his wrestling coach asked him what he wished to do with his life, he said, "'I don't know, but I know I'll be famous and I know I'll make a ton of money.' I had no idea how. I'd done nothing proactive." He graduated from Lake Stevens High School in 1997.

Pratt dropped out of community college halfway through the first semester and, after working as a discount ticket salesman and daytime stripper, he ended up homeless in Maui, Hawaii, sleeping in a van and a tent on the beach. He told The Independent, "It's a pretty awesome place to be homeless. We just drank and smoked weed and worked minimal hours, just enough to cover gas, food, and fishing supplies." During his time in Maui, he worked for Christian missionary organization Jews for Jesus.
