Charleston Charlie is a song performed by Gloria Wood in the 1962 animated featurette A Symposium on Popular Songs.

The song is a style parody of flapper girl and Charleston songs from the Roaring '20s, in particular those sung by Helen Kane as evidenced by the "boop-boop-a-doops" throughout.

Lyrics

Poo-poo-poo-pee-doo,
A poo-poo-poo-pee-doo,
Poo-poo-poo-pee-doo-ooh!
Poo-poo-poo-pee-doo,
A poo-poo-poo-pee-doo,
A poo-a-doo-a-doo-a-doo-doo-ooh!

Who's our campus dreamboat? Ooh ooh!
Charleston Charlie, oh, Charleston Charlie's our boy!
Oh gee oh joy!
He's got it and then some. Ooh ooh!
He's so handsome, oh, Charleston Charlie's our guy!
Oh me oh my!

He's slick. He's smooth.
He's got savoire-faire.
He's romancy,
Talks so fancy,
The answer to a flapper's prayer!

All the girls go gah gah! Ooh ooh!
When you Romeo Valentinio eyes! Ooh ooh!
Charleston Charlie, oh, Charleston Charlie, it's a poo-poo-pee-doo, poo-poo-pee-doo, you-ooh!

(instrumental)

Poo-poo-pee-doo, poo-poo-pee-doo, ooh-ooh!

He's slick. He's smooth.
He's got savoire-faire.
He's romancy,
Talks so fancy,
The answer to a flapper's prayer!

All the girls go gah gah! Ooh ooh!
When you Romeo Valentinio eyes! Ooh ooh!
Charleston Charlie, oh, Charleston Charlie, it's a poo-poo-pee-doo, poo-poo-pee-doo, you-ooh!

A poo-poo-pee-doo, poo-poo-pee-doo, you-ooh!
