Alyson "Aly" Michalka is a Disney Channel actress and musician. She is best known as one- half of the duo, Aly & AJ, with her sister, Amanda Michalka.
Aly grew up in Seattle, WA and Southern California. She learned to play piano at the age of seven, and guitar at the age of 13. She was raised as a Christian and continues to practice her faith.
Her first professional acting role was on the Disney Channel Original Series, Phil of the Future as Keely Teslow. She was also in the Disney Channel Original Movies Now You See It... and Cowbelles.
Aly and AJ's first album, Into the Rush, was released in August 2005. Their holiday album, Acoustic Hearts of Winter, was released in 2006. Their third album, Imsomniac, was released in July 2007, and featured the top 20 single, Potential Breakup Song. Their fourth album is due out summer 2009.

- The Aly & AJ butterfly logo was designed by Aly. They now have a new double A logo, though it is not known if Aly designed this one as well.
- Aly & AJ sang the Star Spangled Banner at the White House and met President Bush as part of their living quarters tour.
- Aly & AJ have one dog (Bandit) and two puppies (Roadie and Willow). Their other dog, Saint, died.
