Eighteen years prior to the all-animated feature film version, Walt Disney always wanted ideas to make an animated feature film version of Alice in Wonderland and decided to make a feature-length animated/live-action film adaptation of Alice in Wonderland with Mary Pickford as Alice that was to have been Disney's first feature-length film production. Pickford went through a Technicolor screen test for the animated/live-action film version of Alice in Wonderland, but because Paramount did its own live-action film adaptation in the same year, Walt Disney decided to cancel plans for Alice in Wonderland in favor for his next idea as his first full-length animated feature, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
