"Adventures in Rufus-Sitting" is the second segment of the twenty-seventh episode of Kim Possible.
Plot[]
Kim and Ron are diving in search for a special computer chip, which is also sought by Monkey Fist, Duff Killigan and Shego. Ron gives Kim instructions on babysitting Rufus, as he is going to France with his family, but Rufus can't come, because their hotel has a zero tolerance for rodents. Kim already agreed to babysit Rufus, but she claims she won't sing him a lullaby.
After returning home, Ron is ready to leave, but he has built Rufus' running tube to cover all of Kim's room, leving Kim wonder, how she can get to her bed. When Kim puts the chip on her desk, Ron closing the door as he leaves causes the chip to fly to Rufus' food, which he then eats and swallows the chip. The chip activates inside Rufus' stomach and the villains detect it and set out to recover it.
Kim and Rufus are at Bueno Nacho, where Rufus just can't get enough to eat, having already eaten through two months of Kim's allowance. Wade then contacts her and says the chip is transmitting a signal. Kim says it's in her room, but Wade says not anymore; the signal is coming from Bueno Nacho, inside Rufus. Just then, Monkey Fist busts in with his monkey ninjas, he takes Rufus and escapes in his banana jet. As Kim gives chase, she tells Wade not to tell Ron she lost Rufus. He calls him right then and Kim is forced to lie, that Rufus is sleeping and he can't be awoken since according to Ron's guide, Rufus has to sleep 20 hours a day. Ron fails to notice Monkey Fists jet, as it passes his plane.
Wade managed to track Monkey Fist to French Alps and arranges for Kim to get there. As she infiltrates Monkey Fist's castle, he is trying to use pincers to get the chip from Rufus. Kim arrives just in time and manages to get Rufus back. Kim fights her way out from the castle, only for Duff Killigan to arrive in his blimp and grab Rufus from her. Kim uses her jetpack to get into the blimp, but Killigan traps her in a net and abandons ship as he sets it blow with large golf ball bomb. Kim cuts herself loose and tries to stop the bomb, but is forced to jump out, when she can't stop it (which was actually a needle to pop the blimp).
As Kim chases Killigan in a free fall, Ron calls again (thankfully he can't see her), and wants to speak to Rufus. Kim dives and manages to get Rufus to speak to Ron. Ron notices Rufus seem to freaking, but Kim just says he misses Ron, and ends the call. Kim launches Killigan's parachute and drops to the Eiffel Tower, where Ron happens to be too ( she gets into a photoshot of Ron's family while landing).
However, Kim's landing fails, when she tries to use her grappling hook, and she hits a railing. The resulting hit causes Kim to land roughly on the tower, and Rufus flies straight to the feet of Shego. He escapes before Shego can grab him, but Shego catches up with him. But then Killigan knocks Shego down, and takes Rufus. He tries to escape via lift, but Monkey Fist exits from it and knocks him down. Rufus notices Kim and Kim also sees him. They run to each other, but Shego kicks Kim away and takes Rufus. A series of events takes place, as everyone try to take Rufus from one another, with Ron's family being none the wiser what's happening above them.
Finally, the fighting over Rufus causes him to flung into a lift shaft, and hanging on the wire and fearing for his life. Kim worryingly jumps after him, but she is chased by the villains. Kim uses Killigan's parachute by tying it into her grappling hook, and shooting it on a moving lift car, creating a bag to trap the villains in the lift shaft. She then tries to convince Rufus to jump to her, but Rufus is too scared and refuses. Kim swallows her pride, and begins to sing Rufus his lullaby. The lullaby soothes Rufus and he falls asleep, and Kim jumps into the shaft and catches him as he falls. Ron was totally unaware, what was happening right above him.
Back home, Kim and Rufus deliver the chip to its rightful owners, as Ron tells them about his holiday. Kim and Rufus tell him it's just the same at home. The man Kim gave the chip thanks her for returning the chip and is rather shocked to learn the chip was for special greeting cards. The card with the chip begins to play lullaby and Rufus falls asleep, as Kim says the text in the card: "Congratulations, it's a girl."
Trivia[]
General[]
- The twenty-eigth episode in chronological order.
- This is one of the episodes where Shego appears in it without Drakken.
- Original title: "Adventures in Molesitting".
- Since this was a shorter episode that was paired with "Rufus in Show", an abbreviated version of the title sequence is played to preface it and to serve as a lead-in when returning from the commercial between the two episodes.
Goofs[]
- In the scene where Kim tries to convince Rufus to jump down, her gloves are missing.
- Mr. Stoppable pronounces Louvre (France's art museum) as "Loov-er-uh" like many English-speaking people tend to pronounce it. The correct pronunciation is "Loov", due to the French language's limitations where consonants don't mix together and often have them silent as well as a silent E at the end.
Continuity[]
- When Rufus ate the chip, he was reading the paper, "The Examiner", which printed Ron's story of Adrena Lynn being a fake, and which Ron fetched for him in the episode, Rufus In Show.
