Role in the short
On Christmas night, Adelbert's father, along with his Butler are dealing with Adelbert throwing a huge temper tantrum, rejecting the many toys and gifts they try to offer him. Struggling to stay patient with his child, he sees Adelbert take interest in Pluto, who is singing Christmas carols with Mickey outside their window. When Adelbert starts screaming that he wants Pluto for himself, and so his father orders his Butler to buy him from Mickey at once. The Butler is forced to return empty-handed however when Mickey refuses, only for him to change his mind later that night when he sees that he can use the money to save Christmas for a nearby poor family. The father is delighted when Adelbert finally seems to be having fun with Pluto, and at first all seems well again in the house.
Unfortunately, Adelbert's brattiness takes a turn for the worst with Pluto in the house, and he starts tormenting the dog in his excitement, sending Pluto running all about and causing chaos through their mansion. Adelbert's father furiously yells at his son to stop, only to be pelted with food, toys, and other objects throughout the house. As Adelbert destroys the house and continues to frighten Pluto, he throws a cake in his father's face, and then destroys the Christmas tree which causes his father to be stabbed by the tree's centerpiece
At this point, Adelbert's father cannot stand his son's behavior anymore. Now a frazzled mess, he orders his Butler to send Pluto away immediately, and Adelbert starts crying and screaming hysterically. Furious at his son's destructive behavior, he takes his son over the knee, pulls down his pants and starts spanking his son on the buttocks, finally disciplining him for having ruined their entire Christmas.
