Adelbert's Father is the rich father of Adelbert in the 1932 animated short Mickey's Good Deed.

Role in the short[]

On Christmas night, Adelbert's father, along with his butler are allowing Adelbert to kick up a fuss, rejecting the many expensive toys and gifts they try to offer him. Struggling to stay patient with his child, he sees Adelbert take interest in Pluto, who is singing Christmas carols with Mickey outside their window. When Adelbert starts demanding to own Pluto, the father orders the butler to buy him from Mickey in order to silence his bratty son and have peace again. Mickey refuses, only for him to change his mind later that night when he sees that he can use the money to help a nearby poor family. The father and the butler are delighted when Adelbert starts having fun with Pluto.

This initial relief doesn't last long, as Adelbert destructive behavior manifests as he breaks the mansion. The father’s patience is wearing thin and tries to make his son stop tormenting everyone, with his pleads falling on deaf ears as the brat continues his havok by throwing a pan and a fruit bowl to his face. As Adelbert destroys the house and continues to frighten Pluto, the brat throws a cake which his butler miraculously manages to avoid, but not him, as the cake hits his face. He tries to recover from the fall, but Adelbert sends Pluto flying with the poor dog landing on his head, tripping him down again, alongside the ornaments of the destroyed Christmas tree, culminating in him being stabbed in the buttocks by the tree's centerpiece.

Hearing Adelbert's laughing at his suffering, the father finally had enough. He orders the butler to throw Pluto out, and as Adelbert starts acting out, he angrily pulls down Aldebert’s pants, punishing him right on the spot. Pluto hears and laughs as this happens, then leaves to search for Mickey.
