• April 26 - Dinsoaurs, a co-production between Walt Disney Televsion and Jim Henson Production, premieres on ABC.
• September 7 - Darkwing Duck premieres in syndication on The Disney Afternoon and simultaneously begins running a different block of episodes on Saturday mornings on ABC. The animated superhero spoof features mostly new characters, though Launchpad McQuack (a character originally introduced for DuckTales) is a main character.
